Majestic Male Voice Choir Competition, Torquay 2008

In February 2008, the choir entered the inaugural Majestic Male Voice Choir Competition in Torquay, Devon where twelve choirs took part in the event. This is the first competition the choir has entered  and everyone was delighted and thrilled when they were awarded first place.

The success is a tribute to our musical director and accompanist, Elaine and Siân, for their dedication to the quality of the performance and the spirit of the competition where ‘entertainment value’ and attention to detail came high on the agenda. The logistics of the choir means  choristers meet locally  for rehearsals (see Rehearsal Venues page) and only rehearse as a full choir once every three or four weeks  The choristers and the group music teams,  all deserve a  pat on the back for their commitment to the competition, which resulted in the  well deserved win.
